The John Hanly story began in 1893 when Denis Hanly and his son John set up a wool spinning mill in a disused flour mill in Ballyartella, North Tipperary Ireland. Local farmers sold their sheep's wool to the mill, where it was spun and carded, then woven into the two main products, blankets and flannel. Today, Brian Hanly, the fourth generation of the Hanlys, is proud to be at the helm of the company. Her weaving mill in Ballyartella remains at the heart of her work - but her story travels the world. They supply top brands, designers and quality retailers in a variety of countries.
